Description

Consumers have come to expect personalized and seamless experiences in nearly all aspects of their daily life - how they stay connected, shop, book travel and manage their finances. Technology innovation has enabled these experiences. Consumers should expect, and will demand, the same personalized experience for managing their health. To meet new competitive challenges, better respond to consumer needs, reduce systemic friction points and to inspire a brighter future for healthcare in America, Humana has created a new business focused on the whole health needs of seniors. Associates in this new business segment (Author by Humana) are creating a customer-back experience designed to foster a trusting relationship with seniors to help them achieve their best health. Author operates independently with a 'startup-like' mentality, and the enthusiastic support and backing of Humana and its board, with the goal of changing the healthcare industry from managing transactions to supporting a member's whole health. We are seeking individuals who are passionate about solving big problems in healthcare for seniors. As a member of the Author team, you will have the opportunity to bring your 'A game' to work every day to improve the lives and health of the seniors we serve.

As the Health Strategy Project Manager for the Author Health Team, you will be responsible for working to managing Health Team growth priorities, aligning Care Team people, processes, and technology to executive initiatives mapped to organizational strategy. Our integrated service and clinical model is changing lives every day - we need you to help us support the growth of this team over time. If you are a strategic thinker with a passion for healthcare, strong emotional intelligence and communication skills, and comfort with ambiguity in a start-up environment, we can't wait to meet you. Are you ready to join us in redefining the future of healthcare?

Responsibilities

What You'll Do:

There is no 'typical' day-to-day in this role - one of the most exciting parts of joining our team. Functionally, however, the projects supported by this role include those that are top strategic priorities of the Health team - the things that must get done to ensure we continue to deliver on our mission & refine our operating model to best activate Care Team associates for member engagement. Typical activities are likely to include the following:

Identify, use and maintain appropriate project management tools

Independently break down 'gray area' and ambiguous problems into the workstreams, timelines, metrics of success needed to have the work advance

Proactively identify what potential barriers might block progress or what interdependencies the project might have with other work in flight

Conduct and/or support complex qualitative and quantitative analysis of project data, summarize findings, draw appropriate conclusions, and effectively communicate results to team (flow charts, gap analysis, conjoint analysis, ROI, sensitivity tables, etc.)

Manage communication to and relationships with key project stakeholders (internal and external)

Support Health Team Strategy and Care Team leaders with ad-hoc project support, organizational effectiveness, meeting scheduling/minutes, and calendaring

Your Strengths:

Systems thinker : Highly analytical, able to break down a problem. Builds robust models / frameworks aimed at solving problems.

Project Management: Able to manage multiple projects at once from discovery phase to execution within prescribed timelines, ensuring all success criteria are met

Prioritization: Able to execute on projects within prescribed timelines in an environment with competing demands

Change management: Able to influence stakeholders to effect process change. Thoughtful approach from planning to monitoring. Ability to break a large problem into tangible pieces

Business Acumen: basic financial analysis skills, medium-level Excel skills (can create moderate-level formulas in Excel), advanced PowerPoint skills (experience creating slides for executive audiences)
