Description

The Senior Infrastructure Architect designs and develops IT infrastructure architecture solutions to business problems in alignment with the enterprise architecture direction and standards. The Senior Infrastructure Architect work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

Responsibilities


The Senior Infrastructure Architect performs technical planning, architecture development and modification of specifications.
Develops specifications for new IT infrastructure products and service offerings.
Assesses the compatibility and integration of products/services proposed as standards in order to ensure an integrated architecture across interdependent technologies.


Our Department of Defense Contract requires U.S. citizenship for this position.

KEY Accountabilities

50-80% Develop IT Infrastructure Architecture Solutions


Develop specifications for implementing new recommended/accepted IT infrastructure products and service offerings
Make decisions regarding new infrastructure product and service offerings as well as resolving issues with current infrastructure that are complex in nature
Perform, collaborate and coordinate work across multiple teams to ensure infrastructure additions and changes are implemented successfully
Ensure that infrastructure architecture documentation is kept up to date with any new technology or configuration changes and that full documentation is shared with Enterprise Architecture and Software Engineering teams
Contribute to system disaster recovery planning, documentation and execution
Provide after-hours support related to updating infrastructure as needed


20-50% Planning and Modification of Specifications


Perform regular reviews of existing infrastructure architecture
Plan for the implementation of new infrastructure components, such as VM farms or scale sets, into existing architecture
Research new products/services to determine usefulness and compatibility with an integrated architecture across interdependent technologies that meets business goals
Recommend when portions of current architecture should be replaced with new components/technologies
Modify specifications of implemented/planned architecture, such as load balancers, firewalls and web site server certificates as needed


Troubleshoot infrastructure problems by using tools such as Splunk and Dynatrace

Required Qualifications


Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field or equivalent years of experience
6 years of technical experience within an infrastructure architecture role or similar position
2 years of technical project management experience
Strong technical knowledge and experience with Microsoft based systems administration and software development.
Strong knowledge and experience with scripting tools such as PowerShell.
Must be able to travel up to 10% of the year to Humana's offices located in Louisville, KY
If offered a position with Humana Government Business you would be required to go through the eQIP process to obtain Government Security Clearance to work on government systems

Work at Home Requirements


Must have the ability to provide a high speed DSL or cable modem for a home office (Satellite and Wireless Internet service is NOT allowed for this role). A minimum standard speed for optimal performance of 10x1 (10mbs download x 1mbs upload) is required
A dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information


Preferred Qualifications


Master's Degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field or equivalent years of experience
Prior experience supporting Azure cloud systems
Prior healthcare industry experience
Prefer someone within the Louisville, KY area but will consider those outside the area with stellar experience and knowledge relative to this amazing opportunity
