Global Precision System, LLC (GPS) is seeking a PSO Project Manager
in Anchorage, Alaska.
The Protected Species Observer (PSO) Program provides monitoring as part of an extensive ecological studies program related to Arctic offshore oil and gas exploration. Protected Species Observers (PSO) work as shipboard crew in the Alaskan Chukchi and Beaufort seas and other areas during the open-water season (June – November, dependent on ice and weather conditions). Observers typically remain at sea for 3 weeks on. PSOs may also be needed for aerial surveys. This position will be fully responsible for the Protected Species Observers (PSO) program.​The Project Manager will be oversee the recruitment process, tracking of incoming candidates, organizing and assisting with interviews (assist recruits with the enrollment process and ensuring that incoming PSO’s have the necessary information and paperwork for service).​ Incumbent will also out-reach to Shareholders within Bering Straits Region to promote the PSO program. ​ Will assist in development and implementation of the PSO trainings.​ Will support our PSO project and assure that project requirements are met.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Ability to understand contractual administrative, technical, operational, and personnel requirements.
Accomplishes work requirements by orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, and coaching Protected Species Observers.
Meets cost standards by monitoring expenses; implementing cost-saving actions.
Develops and maintains a detailed project schedule which includes administrative tasks and all sites involved in the project.
Coordinates and participates in PSO project Team Meetings.
Coordinates travel arrangements and expense reports.
Ensures the PSOs are fully ready for deployment
Maintains Project calendars.
Ensures adherence to deadlines.
Files all project documents (hard and soft copies)
Responsible to track project changes and produces updated site based schedule as agreed with project management.
Responsible to take input from PSO’s and project team to develop and maintain the detailed schedule

Job Requirements :
Required:
Associate’s degree in business administration or management or a similar field or equivalent work experience.
Two (2) years of experience in administrative work similar project management role.
Prior supervisory experience hiring, training, coaching, directing, and managing employees.
Demonstrated experience in personnel management.
Familiarity with project management.
Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential.
Experience in creating agendas, minutes, correspondence, documentation, and presentations.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Must have the ability to successfully manage a culturally diverse workforce and to quickly become a trusted partner with the team through commitment to practice and understand Inupiat values, culture and politics.
Technically competent with various software programs, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.
Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Responds to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently.
Ability to remain flexible during times of change.
Proactive, Persuasive, encouraging, motivating, and fostering of teamwork
Strong written and oral communication skill.
Skills to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial.
Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration or management or a similar field.

The noise level is generally quiet except when traveling in boats or airplanes. Fitness-to-Work medical exam and ability to pass a drug test prior to deployment
Possession of a valid Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC) (****and passport
Successful completion of Helicopter Underwater Egress Training (HUET) and Basic Offshore Survival
Successful completion of LGL Arctic PSO Training Program
Approval of qualifications by National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS)
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work Environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be borne by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
Job is normally performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse and multi-line telephone system. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
The work described herein is primarily aboard an oceangoing vessel, subject to all weather and water conditions. Travel is required to and from vessels and to training locations.
