Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a Construction Management Project Manager for our water/wastewater projects in the Pittsburgh, PA region and throughout Pennsylvania. Candidate will manage one or more moderately complex projects as an Owner’s Representative. Projects will include those involving multiple primes executed under the PA Separations Act guidelines. Candidate will be accountable for the development, coordination, and execution of the planning, design and/or construction management activities and personnel under individual's direction on a day-to-day basis.

Candidate will work mostly independently but will receive basic instruction on specific assignments, objectives, complex features and possible solutions; will receive technical guidance on unusual or complex problems.

Projects will include water distribution and sewer conveyance systems, sewer rehabilitation and trenchless piping projects, pump stations, and water and wastewater treatment facilities.

Responsibilities will include:

Construction management, implementing project controls

Supervision of project support staff such as inspectors, project administration, project controls, scheduling, cost control, estimating and procurement representatives.

Establishment of project objectives and work plans, delegation of assignments to project team members.

Review of objectives to determine success of project.

Supervise the administration of projects during the construction cycle including technical, financial, and client satisfaction.

Assisting in obtaining additional details or information from the Owner when required for proper execution of the Work.

Review and monitoring of all construction schedules, the schedule of Shop Drawing and Sample submittals (submittal register), schedule of values, and other schedules prepared by the Contractor and consult with the Owner concerning acceptability of such schedules.

Maintenance of appropriate project records using applicable forms provided by the Owner, electronic tools, and standard procedures. Project records include contracts; correspondence issued and received; construction documents, change orders; inspections, and claims.

Use of the Construction Inspection staff to observe the contract work, including field checks of materials and installed equipment, endeavor to provide further protection for Client against defects and deficiencies in the Work.

Facilitation of project progress meeting by developing meeting agendas and meeting minutes

Supporting and facilitating new project pursuits for water and wastewater construction services.

Safety and Quality Control

Invoice Preparation and client progress reports

Creation of Inspection, Testing, and System Start-up plans and deliverables

Assist the Owner in the final inspection of the project, which includes confirming the Contractor’s completion of work listed on the Project Punchlist, to verify final completion and that the project has been completed in accordance with the Contract Documents.

Minimum Requirements

5 years of relevant construction project management experience

Ability to create a Teamwork environment and Liaison between contractors, designers, owners, and end-users

Excellent written/verbal communication, presentation, and proposal writing skills with the ability to interact effectively with design and construction teams, management, and operations and maintenance personnel.

Proven initiative and leadership qualities

BS in Engineering or Construction Management.

Proven client relationship and management skills, at all client levels (staff to executive).

Preferred Qualifications

Pennsylvania Professional Engineer License
