Overview
The Assistant Project Manager will provide Program leadership by supporting the Project Manager to improve efficiency, reduce operational costs, seek competitive parts pricing, improve vehicle availability, reduce vehicle life cycle costs, improve maintenance outcomes, increase productivity, and streamline operations between MaineDOT and MANCON.The Assistant Project Manager will assist the Project Manager with the day-to-day contract execution in accordance with MaineDOT\u2019s Statement of Needs. The Assistant Project Manager will assist the Project Manager with operational decision-making authority to ensure that MANCON\u2019s workforce is responding appropriately to MaineDOT\u2019s operational requirements. Travel to complete assigned functions will occur both overnight and during weekends. Meetings with the customer may require business formal attire.The Assistant Project Manager will support the Project Manager and the Corporate Contract Support Team.
Responsibilities
Contract Management Requirements:\u2022 Work with the MaineDOT Fleet Management to ensure that the contract is administered in a single and consistent manner.\u2022 Attend customer meetings to assess problems and concerns\u2022 Ask appropriate questions to ensure understanding of customer requirements\u2022 Answer questions regarding MANCON capabilities and resources\u2022 Review, familiarize with and adhere to MANCON\u2019s SOPs, Manager Manual, and Safety Manual.\u2022 Investigate product complaints\u2022 Conduct research and answer questions regarding availability of parts\u2022 Monitor level of service reports\u2022 Ensure operations are conducted in accordance with signed contract and SCM procedures\u2022 Perform site visits and safety inspections
 
Personnel Management Requirements \u2022 Supervise District Managers, monitoring all job description activities\u2022 Review and submit timesheets to include emergency overtime\u2022 Investigate and resolve personnel issues.\u2022 Hire and terminate in accordance with MANCON policies \u2022 Provide training on processes and procedures to new employees\u2022 Monitor employee performance and address problems in accordance with established disciplinary processes
 
Ancillary Requirements \u2022 Attention to detail\u2022 Answer all messages phone\\e-mail in a timely fashion\u2022 Disperse all communications between MANCON corporate and field employees as directed\u2022 Assist with delivery and pick-ups\u2022 Provide 24 hour support to MaineDOT\u2022 Conduct project research and provide findings
Qualifications

10 years computer experience
10 years auto or heavy duty truck parts experience
10 years inventory experience
10 years customer service experience
10 years supervisory experience
24-hour availability
Valid driver\u2019s license with 2 years driving experience
Obtain and maintain trainer forklift certificate
Overnight and weekend travel to multiple sites

Physical RequirementsMedium work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Work is mostly performed in an office setting, however some requirements occur at storerooms and warehouses in the field which may have uncontrolled temperatures and dirt/dust/damp conditions.  Travel to site in a vehicle will occur.
