Reporting to the Director, Project Management Office (PMO) and as a member of the Information Technology Services team. The PMO is a team of project managers who are primarily responsible for partner relationship management and who lead project teams in their day-to-day application of technology to improve business process at the Suffolk University. \u00A0Responsibilities include:The PM is responsible for partnering with Suffolk University administrative and academic departments in support of their technology needs. Primary focus will be managing projects to meet project commitments in terms of quality, schedule, cost, and convenience to meet stakeholder requirements.The PM is responsible for project discoveries and project implementations as identified through IT governance and as assigned by the Director. They will sponsor, lead and/or manage multiple IT projects ranging in subject matter, scope, and time frame across the spectrum of third-party integration, hosted/cloud services, custom application development and web projects. The PM works with various ITS and non-ITS teams to deliver new or enhanced software/websites/applications on-time, on-budget, and at the appropriate quality level. They lead and communicate IT standards and best practices in project management.Ensures smooth transition of completed projects into operations, including coordinating with the IT Support Services teams, Educational Technology Services, and vendor resources to provide appropriate training and support. They assess projects at key milestones if appropriate and upon completion, including production of a synopsis of the implementation and a lesson learned document.Forms strong partnerships with senior department business managers to ensure that relationships and communications with the ITS Group remain strong.The PM may be asked to dedicate a percentage of his/her workload toward assisting key partners such as Curry College by providing project management services. \u00A0The PM will utilize best practices in project management and work to embed best practices throughout the IT organization as well as provide leadership to business partners shepherding the utilization of best practices in their respective organizations for business process analysis. \u00A0Recommended Skills and Experience:\u00A0A bachelor\u2019s degree is strongly preferred.1 or more years of project management or related experience.\u00A0 Active member of the Project Management Institute and member of a local PMI Chapter is preferred.Knowledge of agile, scrum, change management, and project management methodologies.PMP or similar certification highly desirable.Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.Must be creative and proactive. Must have ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and handle difficult situations.They will also be highly consultative, effective project manager and team leader, and an effective written and verbal communicator.Successful candidates will also have strong presentation skills and the ability to successfully communicate technical topics to non-technical audiences. Experience providing high-level technology client services in a higher education or professional services setting preferred.Prior experience with technology planning and portfolio management highly desirable.
